Thank Heavens for Little Girls Rooms

I grew up with three younger sisters so g-d help me if I end up with a bevy of boys instead of daughters. If I do have a son he'll have to live in a pink bedroom or one of these other beauties:

The combo of the zebra headboards, printed curtains and pink night table are superb- all perfectly complemented by the pale blue wall colour.  I wouldn't normally think the mix of textures, colours and patterns would work, but it's PERFECTION.

Apple may have a weird name but her mom G had enough sense to give her a princess bed in their Hamptons home that will make her little friends (and me) jealous!

This teen girl's bedroom featured earlier this year in Style at Home is bright and welcoming. The blend of modern and classic pieces in calming white and vibrant pinks is so ult. The tufted headboard, fuchsia leopard arm chair, lucite desk chair and Hermes blanket need to be transported to my own bedroom.

This bedroom is C-L-A-S-S-Y. The silky ballet pink headboard and brown herringbone bed skirt work so well together. The printed carpet and the striped canopy are darling yet sophisticated touches that make this a room a little girl can grow up in.

This Rug Company inspiration room has so much character. The white-washed hardwood and traditional canopy bed are rustic, but the set-up still conveys a modern 21st century feel to me.   Can I please steal your carpet and Venetian mirror little girl?

This Katie Ridder room via the scoop has ethnic touches that make this pink daybed pop. Love how the sconces and bed are wrapped in the same pink wall paper and the range of prints in the pillows adds some nice contrast that keeps the room from looking too pepto.

This is a nice tasteful bedroom featured on Room Service that evolved from a nursery, but I don't love how it looks like it all came from one store. Not enough unique flavour for me - too PB kids...still very sweet looking though!

No lace or florals in sight for this modern gal who'd rather be funky and forward than traditional. Love the pink roman blinds, the locker-style storage and the miffy doll!

Nothing to faint over but very simple and sweet. Love the bright sunshine from the bay windows and the sweetly-dressed iron bed.

These photos from Sarah Richardson's series Sarah's House are contemporary, yet soft. Love the nailhead detailing on the headboard and the printed tuffets- very Sarah!

Hello Ms. Jessica Claire. I am 13 and want to be an interior designer when I grow up. Right now I'm re- modeling my room so I can show off my talent and I just love your third room. It's sophisticated yet soft.

RE: Sarah's House, I have a dresser similar to the white one pictured and I am in the process of refurbishing it. The handles she used are perfect, modern, sleek & tapered for a more delicate look. I'm having troble finding a seek modern handle. There are plenty of handles with blunt ends out there but they just don't do the dresser justice. If you have any tips please let me know. I am in Washington State so stores in Canada will not be useful. THANKS!

Hello! I'm 12 and I would love to be able to re-design my own room- from carpet to curtains! But unfortunately I'm only allowed to re-paint it. I've been thinking about a couple of themes like a modern sea theme with snazzy seaweed and bright coloured fish or a stardust theme with silver, gold, white and baby pink and lots of glitter and stars. Are there any other unique themes that might suit a large and often messy room? Advice would be very helpful right now.

Thanks,
Sophie
